If they find out that I was a journalist and worked for media, they will torture me.

Kainat Ahadi
Former journalist, Laghman

“I worked as a journalist at a local radio station for many years, but since the Taliban takeover, I have been jobless. I went to university, but after the ban on universities, I am at home doing nothing.

As I lost my job after the Taliban takeover, I have financial problems. I cannot support my family financially. This is a big challenge for me. I face many security issues as well. I cannot even go to my father’s house from my in-laws’ house

If the situation continues as it is now, Afghan women will face many more challenges than before. They will have a dark future.

Afghan women should support each other. They can overcome the darkness through the power of education.”
