If the situation keeps going the way it is now, it will not end well

“Before the Taliban takeover, I worked as a social worker doing low-level activities for women. I have also worked on ending gender-based violence and supporting families facing economic challenges.

I was working on projects for the government and provincial-level migration authorities. I would share with them a list of people facing economic issues, and they would share this list with NGOs/INGOs confronting poverty. I also had a private business to support poor families from my income.

Since the Taliban takeover, I have had no projects from the government side. For now, I am running a project from an international NGO with total funding of USD 120,000 and 200 female workers. We have a plan to export the clothes they make outside the country. I also now have work planned for women who live in various districts.

I am concerned for the women who work with me on my projects. They have security concerns.

If the situation keeps going the way it is now, it will not end well. Women and girls will face many more issues.”
